Simeon Doane1

M, d. 1 December 1789
     Simeon Doane was the son of Samuel Doane and Martha Hamblen. Simeon Doane married Apphia Higgins, daughter of Elisha Higgins and Jane Collins, on 1 October 1730 at Eastham.2 Simeon Doane died on 1 December 1789 at Eastham; [prob. 1787 intended] in 80th year.

On the occasion of the nation's Bicentennial Celebration, The Watertown Daily Times presented a list of names and short biographies of Revolutionary War heroes buried in Jefferson County, through the cooperation of the LeRay de Chaumont Chapter, DAR. This list appeared in the Watertown Daily Times throughout 1976.
     Ephraim Doane was born at Eastham. He was the son of Simeon Doane and Apphia Higgins. Ephraim Doane married Lucia or Lucy [Doane] on 16 April 1778 at Eastham, MA; by Rev. Edward Cheever.2 Ephraim Doane died circa 1819 at Ellisburg, Jefferson Co., NY.2 He was buried at Ellisburg, Jefferson Co., NY.
