Eliab Richmond1,2

M, b. 9 April 1751, d. 13 July 1831
     Eliab Richmond was born on 9 April 1751 at Plymouth, MA.1 He was the son of Henry Richmond.1 Eliab Richmond married Hannah Holmes on 3 April 1773; Plymouth VR p. 46.3 Eliab Richmond He was a private in Capt. Thomas Mayhew's co. at the seige of Boston and was among the first to break ground in Oxford. He removed from Plymouth to Hebron, now Oxford, ME. Bought of Mr. Shepard, in 1780, lot 9 (100 acres) in the 5th range, for which he promised to pay 150 bushels of good wheat. He was a wealthy man, and had sixty heirs at his death. He was a farmer, and noted for his industry. His death was caused by falling from a lod of hay when eighty years of age. He was a soldier in the Revolutin, and engaged in several battles. in 1780. He died on 13 July 1831 at Hebron, ME, at age 80; he was instantly killed by falling from a load of hay.1
